From Northland to the Nations

Six weeks ago, we sent out 24 young people once again. Into their families, churches, old and new jobs, and universities. And hopefully later, some of them into overseas missions as well. Since then, we have also said goodbye to some staff members and welcomed a few new ones.

Change is one of the few constants in my so-called daily life. Even though the last two months were very quiet by compared to our usual, a lot has still happened. But I will keep it short:

💬Speed update since my last newsletter:

1. Week

The students came back from outreach, spent their last week of DTS here, and got their diplomas 🎓 After many tears, some went traveling on the South Island while others traveled straight to their loved ones ✈️

2. Week

The DTS staff did their debrief. Since I am both one of the outreach coordinators and a school leader for the next school, I was often there and interested in the feedback. Pizza party to end the semester 🍕🎉

3. Week

Excel sheets, meetings, to-do lists, duties, etc. 💻🗓️📊 The Swiss authorities were a disaster, but community outreach was a lot of fun. On Sunday, I got to lead a short prayer time at my church together with another staff 🙏🏻⛪

4. Week

Vacation! 🌄🏖️ I got to stay with my friends again for a week and just chilled, cooked, hiked, went for walks, read, and spent a bit too much time on my phone 🤳🏻

Sorry Mum 🫣

5. & 6. Week

One last big push to check off to-dos before I was back on the plane ✈️ My first visitors from Switzerland came to New Zealand and I was sick. But it was still fun, and "The Odyssey" was entertaining even with a cold 🤒🍿🎬

Food for thought:

Prayer is so powerful, and yet I have to honestly admit that I often neglect it too much.

Recently, I heard something in a podcast that honestly convicted me a little: "When we pray, God does more and acts quicker." Crazy! But it's true. God has given us all authority in heaven and on earth, and that applies to prayer as well. Are we praying / are you praying as if that is actually true?

Have a good week!👋🏻
